Mayor and Board of Trustees
Addison is governed by a Mayor and six-member Board of Trustees. All are elected at large for four years with staggered terms.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, appoints a full time Village Manager to supervise operations of the various departments. The Board of Trustees is the Village's legislative and policy-making body. It also approves the annual budget, determines the tax levy, passes ordinances and resolutions and approves subdivisions and other land use.
The Board of Trustees meets the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall. In the event of a Monday holiday, meetings are held on Tuesday.
The Committee of the Village Board meet as “committee of the whole” whereby all trustees are members. Chairs and vice-chairs of certain areas are appointed by the Mayor. This committee meets on the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Residents are invited to attend all Board and committee meetings, which are also cablecast on Addison Community Television Channel 6 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99, and are streamed live here as well as on YouTube.
Village Clerk
The Village Clerk is elected at large for a four-year term.
Residents may inspect official Village documents, ordinances and resolutions in the Village Clerk's office. Applications for appointment to commissions are filed in this office. Residents may register to vote and cast absentee ballots, and have documents notarized in the Village Clerk's office.
