COMMUNITY INVITED TO MAYOR LARRY HARTWIG'S RETIREMENT EVENT
30 Years of Service to Vilage of Addison Will Be Celebrated
After 30 years of service to the Village of Addison, Mayor Larry Hartwig’s retirement will be celebrated on Sunday, April 21 and community members are invited to attend. The event will be held at Medinah Banquets, at 550 N. Shriners Drive, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tickets to the event are $30 per person, including buffet dinner, dessert, coffee and soft drinks, and contribution toward a gift. Cash bar will be available. Mayor Hartwig was first appointed to the Village of Addison Police Commission in 1983. He was first elected to office as Village Trustee in 1987, and was re-elected in 1991 and 1995. Shortly after that election, Village President Anthony Russotto died, and Hartwig was chosen by his fellow trustees as the Acting Village President.
He was elected as Mayor in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2009. He announced nearly a year ago that he would not seek re-election this year.
During his tenure as Mayor, Hartwig has served on DuPage Mayors and Managers, Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, CMAP Council of Mayors, Choose DuPage and the DuPage Water Commission.
