SEVEN CONTESTANTS COMPETE FOR MISS ADDISON CROWN
Three Scholarships to be Awarded July 25s
Seven Addison students will compete in the 2012 Miss Addison Scholarship Pageant, vying for three scholarships totaling $3,500. The contestants are: Hayley Ciosek, Cassandra Crifase, Mackenzie Kummer, Dominique Longo, Blessing Steele, Giangela Stokes and Sara Tomasello.
The contestants have submitted an application and essay, a letter of recommendation, and a transcript detailing their academic achievements. They met with the judges for the first time on Wednesday, July 18 at a reception, and were interviewed that evening for a “Meet the Miss Addison Contestants” program which will air on Addison Community Television.
“The reception is an opportunity for the judges to get acquainted with the girls, and begin placing a face with each of the applications,” said Addison Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero, coordinator of the pageant.
The pageant itself will take place on Wednesday, July 25 at 7 p.m. in the Village Hall Rotunda, 1 Friendship Plaza. The public is encouraged to attend. Each contestant will model casual, business and evening wear, provided by Mona Lisa Boutique and Top Fashions, and will take part in an open question-and-answer period.
Miss Addison will receive a $2,000 scholarship; first runner up will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship; and second runner up will be awarded a $500 scholarship. The winner also receives a pendant and crown from Dosis Jewelers of Addison.
The pageant will be judged by former Mrs. Illinois Julie Aceto, from Zazz Productions; Efry Ayala, adjunct faculty for Fashion Merchandising and Design at College of DuPage; Jimmy Narducci, stylist, from One Salon & Spa in Oak Brook; and Barbara Sedlack, Communications & Public Affairs Department at Elmhurst College.
