Profile: Appointed to fill a vacated term in 1992, elected to first full term in 1993 and re-elected in 1997, 2001 and 2005. Mr. Veenstra serves as Deputy Mayor having previously chaired both the Building, Zoning and Development and Public Health, Safety and Judicial Committees. Served as the first chairman of the Substance Responsibility Commission. Mr. Veenstra and his wife Mary Ann have lived in Addison since 1973.
