Water bills are issued by the Village bimonthly and include the cost of garbage pickup,
water and sewer service and user charge. The Village requires that all renters pay an escrow of $100. This escrow is credited back to the renter on their final utility bill. If there is a credit balance after final charges are applied, a refund check will be mailed to the renter at their forwarding address.
Water bills are due 21 days after the billing date. Payments not received by the due
date will incur a 10 percent penalty fee for the water and sewer portion.

Bills can be mailed in the return envelope provided with your bill to the Village's Collection
Office – please allow 5 - 7 days for mail processing. In addition, it may be dropped in the
white Village drop box in front of Village Hall at One Friendship Plaza,
or may be paid in person at the Collection Window during the following hours:
Monday 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays - Fridays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Visa and
MasterCard are accepted.
The Village currently enforces Red Flag Rules for all utility accounts. The Federal Trade Commission issued these regulations for all municipalitiesas a way to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft.
Any resident requesting setup of a water account is now required to come into Village Hall, present a valid Driver's License or Government Issued State I.D., and an additional for of identification (usually a credit card,) and complete an application.
When calling regarding an existing water account, the resident should have the account number, and the date and amount of last payment.

Senior citizens may receive a 50 percent discount on their garbage bill.
Residents age 65 or older should come to the Collection Office at Village Hall
with their current real estate tax bill, showing that they receive the senior
homestead exemption, or they must apply for said exemption at their local
In addition, to receive the senior citizen discount the individual must be
the legal owner of the residence and reside at that address.
