SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE NOW
Village of Addison/AT&T Comcast to Award Five $1,000 Scholarships
Applications are now available for the Village of Addison/AT&T Comcast Scholarships; applications are due Friday, April 1, 2005 at 5 p.m. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to junior and senior college and university students for the 2005-06 school year, who meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of Addison, Illinois, with an Addison mailing address.
- Have a cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.0 (on a 4-point scale.) G.P.A. is to be cumulative to date, and certified by the college registrar.
- Applicants who have worked with the Village of Addison in community television production are eligible to receive an additional quarter point (.25) per year of work, up to a two-year maximum, applicable toward the G.P.A. requirement. Students who are eligible for this should indicate years of work on the application form.
- Intend on majoring in one of the following mass communications fields of study in a college or university:
 | Media – a) Television, b) Radio, c) Film, d) Audio/Video Engineering or e) Journalism; |
| Computer Technology – a) Desktop Publishing, b) Computer Graphics or c)Internet/World Wide Web Design; |
| Marketing – a) Advertising or b) Public Relations |
Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee which will recommend recipients to the Village of Addison Board of Trustees.
Applications are
available at the Addison Village Hall, One Friendship Plaza, or may be
downloaded from the Village’s website at www.addisonadvantage.org/scholarship.htm.
