APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR VILLAGE OF ADDISON/AT&T SCHOLARSHIPS

Five $1,000 Scholarships Available to Addison College Juniors, Seniors

Applications are now available for the 2003 Village of Addison/AT&T Cable Services Scholarships, which are available to Addison college or university students entering their junior or senior year and majoring in mass communications-related fields.

A maximum of five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2003-04 school year. Deadline for the applications is Friday, March 28, 2003.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a resident of Addison, Illinois, with an Addison mailing address. 
2. Have a cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of at least 3.0 (on a 4-point scale.) G.P.A. is to be cumulative to date, and certified by the college registrar. 
3. Majoring in one of the following mass communications fields of study in a college or university: 

   a. Media - television, radio, film, audio/video engineering or journalism 

   b. Computer Technology - desktop publishing, computer graphics or internet/world wide web design 

   c. Marketing - advertising or public relations

Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee, which will recommend recipients to the Village of Addison Board of Trustees. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Village of Addison, and will receive scholarship money upon providing proof of registration and verification of field of study by an official of the college or university as stated on the application form.

This will be the 16th year that the Village of Addison has disbursed scholarship money, as part of the cable franchise agreement with its cable provider, AT&T Cable Services.
