NEW TRUSTEE APPOINTED FOLLOWING RUSSOTTO RESIGNATIONWilliam Lynch, 33-Year Resident, Approved by Village Board to Fill Vacancy
Addison Village Trustee Jarrod Russotto resigned his seat on the Village Board Monday night after five years of serving the community in which his father had served as Village President for 10 years. William Lynch, 33-year Addison resident, was sworn in to fill his vacancy following appointment by Mayor Larry Hartwig and approval by the Board of Trustees. Russotto cited increasing conflicts with his work schedule as he resigned the seat he has held for the past five years. He also indicated that he hopes to put his efforts into establishing a foundation to help those who have suffered brain injuries. "I've realized, reluctantly, that it's not fair to the residents to have me dedicate less than my best efforts to the Board," Russotto said. Russotto was appointed to the Village Board in 1997 when Hartwig was elected Mayor. Hartwig was the acting mayor for two years following the death of Village President Anthony Russotto in April 1995. Russotto was then elected in 1999.
During his ten years as Village President, Anthony Russotto had worked to improve the image of the community and spearheaded new development and redevelopment in town, including bringing Dave and Buster's, the beginning of Addison's entertainment corridor. Jarrod Russotto further championed those efforts during his tenure on the Village Board, working closely with the Village's Community Relations Department in marketing Addison, especially the now-flourishing entertainment corridor. Upon acceptance of Russotto's resignation, the Village Board approved the appointment of William Lynch to fill the vacancy.
Lynch, who is employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co., in Hoffman Estates, has served the Village on two of its commissions; he has been a member of the Plan Commission since 1990, and the Citizens Advisory Commission since 1989, representing District 10. "My wife, Adele, and I raised our two sons here and we enjoy living in Addison," he said. "I think this is a great community, and I'm happy to be a part of this." Lynch will serve the rest of Russotto's four-year term, which will end in the spring of 2003. # # # |
