'ADDISON BY THE SLICE' DELIVERS TO THOUSANDSPizza Bakeoff Results in Awards to Three RestaurantsA hot, humid evening with the threat of rain didn't deter the hungry crowds Tuesday night, as more than 2,000 area residents came out to sample the best pizza Addison has to offer, at the 3rd Annual "Addison By the Slice" Pizza Bakeoff. Coinciding with the weekly Concert in the Park and National Night Out, attendees were treated to the sounds from the Limited Edition Big Band and visited with Crime Prevention Officers from the Addison Police Department. Children also got to meet "Ozzie," the mascot from the Kane County Cougars, who delivered 4 Free Tickets to a Cougars game, which were given away in a free drawing. But it the was the opportunity to sample pizza from six different local pizza kitchens that once again drew the crowds, who were then given the opportunity to vote for the best pizza, in the "People's Choice Award." Five judges also gave out awards in seven categories during blind taste test inside Village Hall. Three different restaurants received awards during the contest. The winners were:
