ADDISON IS READY FOR SECONDS

Six local restaurants to compete in "Addison By The Slice"

The second serving of "Addison By The Slice" is just around the corner. Last year more than 1,000 attendees came out to taste the best pizza Addison has to offer. This year six different restaurants will be selling $1.00 samples on August 5 from 6 until 9 p.m. Beverages are also available for $1.00.

In a twist, this year the people's vote counts even more because they will be the only judges. That is right the people will decide the winners in every category. Voting will take place from 6:00 until 8:30 pm. The categories include Best Sausage, Best Thin Crust, Best Deep Dish/Stuffed, Best Specialty, and of course the People's Choice. Awards will be announced following the concert.

The bakeoff will be located on the Village Green, east of the Addison Village Hall at One Friendship Plaza. Once again the great sounds of the Limited Edition Big Band can be heard. The concert begins at 7:30p.m.. Both events coincide with the Addison Police Department's celebration of National Night Out. It will be a night of food and fun for the entire family.

Last year's winners: included: Best Deep Dish/Stuffed Pizza – Casino's Pizza; Best Specialty Pizza – Casino's Pizza; Best Thin Crust Pizza – Mannino's Pizza; Best Sausage – Nardi's Pizza; and the most coveted award, the People's Choice Award, went to Nardi's Pizza
