AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZES ADDISON PROJECT

Village Hall and Police Station Garner 'Project of the Year' Award from Chicago Chapter

The American Public Works Association - Chicago Metropolitan Chapter has announced that Addison's Village Hall and Police Station project has been selected to receive the 2002 Project of the Year Award.

"This award was established to recognize outstanding public works projects," said Laura McGovern, awards committee chairperson. "This project was a tremendous undertaking and we commend the Village's efforts on it."

Awards are given in three divisions: projects less than $2 million; projects $2-10 million; and projects more than $10 million; and in five categories: structures; transportation; environment; historical restoration/preservation; and disaster or emergency construction/repair.

Addison's project - a newly constructed Village Hall connected to the newly remodeled Police Department - won in Structures more than $10 million.

"We are very proud of our new facilities, and are grateful to the APWA for this recognition", said Addison Village Manager, Joseph Block.

Awards will be presented at a luncheon to be held at the Carlisle in Lombard on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 11:30 a.m.

The project will now be considered at the national level by the American Public Works Association.
