START THE HOLIDAY SEASON AT
THE 12th ANNUAL MAYOR'S COMMUNITY CHARITY BALL

For the 12th consecutive year, the Addison's holiday season will be rung in with the Mayor's Community Charity Ball, on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Alta Villa Banquets, at 430 N. Addison Road. This year fourteen different non-profit organizations will share the profits of this gala evening, featuring dinner, dancing, entertainment, as well as auction and raffle prizes.

"We live in a community that really works to help each other," said Mayor Larry Hartwig, host of the event. "At the beginning of this season of giving, it's good for us to remember that there are members of our community who need help. This event allows us to help them, and celebrate the season at the same time."

Tickets to event are $55 per person, with profits benefiting the local organization of choice. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., along with the first opportunity to bid on items in the silent auction. Items range from gift baskets valued at approximately $50 up to a mink coat and jewelry items, valued at more than $1,000.

"There's something for any price range for those who want to do a little Christmas shopping during the evening," said Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero, one of the organizers of the event.

Dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Addison Trail High School Chamber Strings and the Elmhurst College Jazz Band.

New this year will be a live auction at 9:30 p.m., including items such as a trip to New York City.

Also new this year is a Cash Raffle; first prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, and third prize is $250. Raffle tickets are available from the participating organizations, as well as at Village Hall.

For information or reservations for evening, please contact Doree Krage, Assistant Director of Community Relations, at 630/693-7550 by Friday, November 1.

Organizations who will benefit from this year's event are the Addison Community Switchboard, Addison Association of Industry & Commerce, American Association of University Women, Addison Center for the Arts, Addison Trail Music Boosters, Addison Trail Theater Boosters, Concord Lutheran School, Historical Society, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Woman's Club and Helping Hand Sertoma Club.
