MAYOR OF TRIGGIANO VISITS ADDISONFuture Sister City Sends Dignitary to Share IdeasMayor Larry Hartwig and the Addison Village Board of Trustees will host a group of dignitaries visiting from Italy on Monday, October 14, 2002. Dr. Francesco Denicoḷ, mayor of Triggiano, Italy, will lead the group of citizens from his city as the first step in establishing the Village of Addison as Triggiano's Sister City. In writing to Mayor Hartwig regarding developing the sister city agreement, Mayor Denicoḷ said, "Please consider this … a formal pledge that my Administration wishes to implement [sister cities] in the spirit of learning and comparing the problems and issues facing our two communities." "We are honored and grateful that the City of Triggiano has expressed its intent to develop a sister city relationship with the Village of Addison, especially since we have so many former citizens of Triggiano who now make their home in Addison," said Mayor Hartwig. Mayor Denicoḷ and his family will arrive at the Addison Village Hall at 5 p.m. to meet with Mayor Hartwig, the Village Board and community members. He will then appear with Mayor Hartwig on Addison Community Television's Before the Board, which airs live every Monday night at 6 p.m. Finally, he will be introduced at the Board's Building, Zoning & Development Committee meeting at 7 p.m.
