APPOINTMENT OF NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

Roseanne Benson To Take Helm October 9

Village Manager Joseph Block has announced the appointment of Roseanne Benson as the Village Finance Director, effective October 9, 2003. She will take over for Tom Kuehne, whose resignation takes effect October 8, 2003 to assume the position of Finance Director in Arlington Heights.

At the October 6, 2003 Village Board Meeting, Mayor Larry Hartwig will appoint Ms. Benson Village Treasurer and seek approval of the Board of Trustees.

"We wish Tom the best of luck in his new position," said Mr. Block. "I know that he will work closely with Roseanne on transition issues until his departure, and I have every confidence in Roseanne as she assumes her new duties."

Ms. Benson, an Addison resident who currently holds the position of Assistant to the Finance Director, joined the Village of Addison in February 2000 after working for the Village of Bensenville Finance Department for 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marquette University, and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1992.

"I would like to thank the Board and Village Manager Block for this opportunity and Tom for his guidance. I look forward to the challenges ahead." said Ms. Benson.

The Village Board meets October 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room (Room 2200) of Village Hall, One Friendship Plaza.
