Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.)

Crime Prevention Officers work with the Senior Program Coordinator form the Addison Park District and members of the Addison Senior Citizens Club to provide crime prevention programs and programs to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens.

Elderly Service Officer (ESO)
Crime Prevention Officers are trained and certified as ESO Officers and alert senior citizens to crimes which may target them as victims.

Senior Safety Assurance Program
The program provides seniors with a cellular phone capable of dialing 911 in emergencies. Over 33 cell phones have been issued since the programs inception in 2002. This provides seniors with an opportunity to be able to leave their home and have a way to receive help if needed.

Volunteers in Policing (VIP)
Volunteers in Policing began in 1993. The Volunteers in Policing Lobby Program was initiated in fall 2001. VIP's greet persons in the police lobby during the day Monday through Friday and provide court directions and answer general questions.
