About the Department

The Addison Police Department values all of its citizens and respects their right to live in a safe and nurturing community free from all forms of oppression. The Department equally values all of its members and strives to maintain the highest quality of personnel in order to effectively serve its citizens. The foundations of government set forth in the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Illinois, along with the national standards set forth by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, are all held in the highest esteem by the Addison Police Department.

In order to fulfill the duties of the Chief of Police, the Addison Police Department has been organized into two primary Divisions, they are the Field Services Division and the Support Services Division. These two divisions are subdivided into smaller sections and/or shifts as are appropriate. Each Division is lead by a Deputy Chief of Police who works under the direction of the Chief of Police and in general, coordinates the activities of their respective divisions.
